Applications for licensed rental spaces
Toi Pōneke Arts Centre is moving to a new home at 3-6 Market Lane, opening June 2026. This building will play a key role in bringing our Ngā Tuapapa Taketake (foundation baselines), Moemoeā (Vision) and Tuakana-Teina Kaupapa to life (read more about these on our home page).
Applications for limited-term licensed rental spaces in our new whare at Market Lane, are now open and close 11.59pm, 23 April 2026.
The following spaces are available:
Rima - Office Space 5 - 30m²
Whitu - Office Space 7 - 43m²
Ngā Taipitopito Tono | Application Details
We invite applications from arts organisations, and artists residing in the Wellington region. Applications need to align with the Toi Pōneke Moemoeā (Vision), Tuakana-Teina Kaupapa, and one or more of the focus areas of Council’s Aho Tini 2030 Arts, Culture and Creativity Strategy.

1. Read the full Re-imagined Toi Pōneke Applications Guidelines. This has information about our Ngā Tuapapa Taketake (foundation baselines), Moemoeā (Vision), Tuakana-Teina Kaupapa, Aho Tini 2030 Strategy, the building, the spaces, rentals, Tuakana and Teina role descriptions, and application information.
2. Review the space requirements, Floor plans.
3. Review the Tuakana-Teina Narrative Guide.
4. Review the relevant Licence Agreement to understand the terms and conditions. If successful you will have a chance to carry out due diligence before progressing to signing the agreement.
