December 2017 - February 2018
As part of our support and opportunities programme, Toi Pōneke is thrilled to be sponsoring dance studio hire for dance theatre company, House of Sand.
The company are working on a new show, FEAR OF EGGS, which will premiere at BATS Theatre from 20-24 March, as part of the 2018 NZ Fringe Festival.
This is the third in a series of House of Sand’s unique blend of dance, abstract theatre, and art. Following on from Knitting While Sleeping and Feet.Us., Fear of Eggs tackles bodies of flesh and mess experience fragmented stories of love, loss nurturing, and nonsense.
Siblings Charles and Eliza Sanders are the artistic directors behind House of Sand. Since 2015, the duo have worked with around thirty collaborators across Australia and New Zealand. They’ve partnered with six venues to present at five festivals.
In 2016 House of Sand won the NZ Fringe award for Best Emerging Company.
