What’s a comic and how can you make one? This workshop is a fun and interactive beginners guide to comic making. We’ll explore the language of comics, character design and get you drawing your own stories. This is an all-ages workshop, designed to be a non-intimidating, and interactive experience - to try out some new things, and have fun while learning about comic storytelling.

Artists Biography

Sam Orchard is a queer trans man whose ongoing web comic 'Rooster Tails' has been running for over 10 years, and the author of 'Family Portraits', a series of short comic stories that amplify the stories of intersectional identities within Aotearoa’s rainbow communities.  Sam is currently working on his first full length graphic novel.
