Make your own puppet. Learn how to craft a large puppet by hand over 3 evenings.

In this course you will be learning the essential elements to consider when designing a puppet for yourself, or a show.

What aspects are the key opportunities for successfully creating an expressive, personalized, easy to manage and impactful puppet.

I’ll take you from the design process, through the full construction journey; of in this case your very own dolphin puppet. By the end of this construction workshop you will have the skills to design more puppets into the future, have a keen understanding of what materials to use, and also have an impressive exciting puppet to take home with you!

Tutor Biography:

Anne-Lisa Noordover is a Wellington based Set, Puppet and Costume designer and builder, as well as a Stage Manager, Assistant Director and Actress. She has worked on many different shows utilizing the magic of puppetry to bring ideas, themes, story-telling and magical characters to life, as well as designing and making one off items for individuals as gifts for loved ones. 

Through puppetry work and theatre work in general, Anne-Lisa has an appreciation of the lightness, play element, and constant acceptance and encouragement of making mistakes as being the road towards growth, This work continues to inspire her belief that exploring and interacting with this field is something which is beneficial in greater life for anyone and everyone.
