In partnership with Toi Pōneke Arts Centre, Workspace Studios are thrilled to announce two brand-new jewellery workshop residencies for 2024 - 2025!
Applications are now open for the Tipua and the Kapeu Residencies.
Thanks to the generosity of Toi Pōneke Arts Centre, both residency packages will offer bench space at Workspace Studios in Wellington, access to tools and specialist equipment, and mentoring support. Each residency will culminate in an exhibition at either Toi Pōneke Gallery (Kapeu) or Mason & Collins Gallery (Tipua).

Tipua Residency
Awarded to a promising emerging jeweller, this residency provides resources and support, allowing them to focus on developing their craft at a critical career point. This residency is designed to assist early-career makers to lay a solid foundation of skills and peer connection leading to sustainable arts practise.
This can be a 6 or a 12 month residency depending on the level of rental support.
Ideal for a maker who is making their first serious steps after foundational learning.
Kapeu Residency
Awarded to a jewellery maker who already shows considerable dedication and commitment to growing their professional practice, and is ready to advance their work to the next level.
This residency is an opportunity for them to boost their professional journey, and also foster a vibrant connection within the jewellery community. This program is designed to support jewellers in building resilient and sustainable practices, that can thrive in the long term.
This is a 12 month residency in the professional Workspace2 studio.
This is suited to a developing professional, in artisan or arts-based jewellery making.
