As we welcome Koanga and the changing of the seasons we ask that you join us for Koanga Kōrero a poetry night that embraces the hopefulness and possibility of spring. All are welcome to listen but only indigenous poets can share. Come share and listen to new and emerging voices. This is open mic style event.

Neon
“Kia ora! I am a rangatahi artist from Ngati Porou and Ngati Maniapoto. My form of art is writing and drawing. I am currently a kaiawhina at a kura kaupapa maori which has been the source of a nourishing kind of wairua for myself, my reo and my work. Free Palestine! Free Congo! Free Sudan! Free Uyghurs! Free Hawai'i! Free Philippines! Mo ake tonu atu!”
Mauatua
Mauatua Fa’ara-Reynolds is Mā’ohi-Norf’k student at Te Herenga Waka, occasional poet, and tapa maker. She currently works at the Salient student magazine as a staff writer, where she writes about issues concerning Pasifika youth. Her poetry is fueled by mana vāhine and trans-indigenous networks of solidarity.
