Jessica George - 2024 Film Producer Intern

Toi Pōneke Arts Centre and Pop Film are delighted to announce Jessica George who has been selected to be the Film Producer Intern for the Write Room 2024-25.

Jessica George is a Kiwi-Indian emerging producer from Te Awa Kairangi ki Tai (Lower Hutt). Notably, she produced the Tokelauan documentary ‘VAKA’ (2019) which premiered at the United Nations’ annual climate change conference COP25, and ‘The Lascar’ (2023) which screened at Whānau Mārama (NZIFF) 2024. Jessica is dedicated to dynamic storytelling and is passionate about amplifying stories from the Asian diaspora. She is a 2022 Master of Fine Arts graduate from Victoria University of Wellington and works in production at Wētā Workshop’s Design Studio.

Jessica will be helping to select the Scriptwriter in Residence for 2025.
