Bailee Lobb

Join Bailee in her exhibition In Bathing, Bask in the Toi Pōneke Gallery for a casual conversation around the inflatable sculptures she has created.

Visitors to the gallery are invited to enter the works to explore; while inside they will be able to see the subtle variations in colour on the surface of the textile, created through the process of hand-dying. These variations are more apparent with some colours than others, due to the number of dye-lots, the temperature of the dye and the yardage that went into the pot.

Artist Biography

Bailee Lobb is a performance and installation artist who works with colour, soft structures, and movement to create immersive and playful interactive environments. She is creating an ambitious series of new brightly coloured inflatable works for In Bathing, Bask that will transform the gallery space into a playground of undulating textile forms, colour, and bouncing light. The immersive non-linear spaces on show will offer visual, tactile and spatial stimulation, encouraging sensory play and engagement with ‘stim’ culture – adding positive sensory stimuli to our lives in order to relax, self-regulate, and calm our central nervous systems.
