Moonhee Han, Yon Yi Sohn and Eun Jung Jang

Join these three artists, who will talk about their artistic journey through different mediums over the years, and the ideas and development of the exhibition Listening to Lines, which they have collaborated on. A Q&A session will follow.


Artists Biographies:

Yon Yi Sohn

Yon Yi Sohn is a visual artist, creating a minimalistic, abstract body of works through drawing, painting, printmaking, and installation. She has exhibited for many years in Wellington, NZ, and London, UK, and her works are in private collections in New Zealand and the United States. She holds a MA in Painting from Royal College of Art, London, and BFA from Massey University, Wellington.

Eun Jung Jang

Eun Jung Jang is a Bojagi patchwork artist. She started Bojagi patchwork with Moonhee Han’s Bojagi class in the late 2010s, and participated in many group exhibitions at various venues in Wellington. She is currently leading a weekly Bojagi club called Atti Poneke (Atti means friends in Korean). She holds a MFA in advertising design from Academy of Art University, San Francisco, USA, and a BFA in visual art design from Chung Ju University, Korea.

 

Moonhee Han

Moonhee Han is a Bojagi patchwork artist and tutor. She participated in many exhibitions both in Korea and New Zealand and curated Bojagi exhibitions in Wellington in 2018 and 2019. She holds a BA in design (First Class Honours) from Massey University, Wellington.


Listening to Lines

Yon Yi Sohn, Moonhee Han, and Eun Jung Jang collaborate in this exhibition of drawing, painting, embroidery and installation of ‘lines’ - the basic element of visual storytelling.
