Lavie Raven is currently visiting New Zealand on a Fulbright Scholarship to study the intersection of Hip Hop activism and Māori culture.

He is currently a Social Studies and Language Arts Instructor at North Lawndale College Preparatory High School and Adjunct Professor in the School of the Art Institute Art Education Department, Chicago, USA.

Raven hails from the University of Hip-Hop in Chicago, with thirty plus years of busting lyrics and performing in hiphop groups TDT, Xmen and Burn Unit. His graffiti artwork is extensive and has developed into working with youth worldwide.

Lavie will give an exciting artist talk to share his music, illuminate writing projects and experiences of hiphop activism. Local Dj Kerb will also be spinning some beats for the night.
