Te Ata Festival
A partnership between Toi Pōneke Arts Centre and NZ Festival; to develop a more sustainable Wellington Performing Arts Industry.
This initiative will provide mentored support over an 8 week period 13 January – 6 March 2020.
This programme will support an experienced producer as a mentor and an emerging producer as a mentee, recognising the value of hands on industry mentoring.
Sasha Gibb, Producer of Te Ata, NZ Festival will provide mentoring over the 8 weeks.
Mentee Biography
Trae Te Wiki is of Ngati Ruanui, Ngati Awa, Ngati Kahungunu and Nga Puhi descent.
Trae is an award winning performer, writer and producer. Her recent work includes her performance in Second Unit: What we do in the Shadows, Taki Rua Productions’ Te Reo Maori Season of Hine Kihawai and touring with her first written show, Beneath Skin and Bone (Winner of Newcomer Award, Wellington Theatre Awards 2019). She is an honours graduate from Victoria University of Wellington and has also worked as a Producer and Tour Manager for Mind Over Manner Charitable Trust and Atamira Dance Company.
