Toi Pōneke Arts Centre are delighted to announce our Dance Residents for 2020-21; choreographers Otto Kosok & Amit Noy and producer Monique Gilmour.
Biographies:
Amit Noy is a Latinx-Israeli dancer, writer, and dancemaker living in Wellington, New Zealand. They grew up in Kailua, Hawai’i, and spent the first ten years of their life studying Hawaiian hula under Kahelepuna Richardson-Naki and Chinky Mahoe. Through hula, Amit discovered the joyful sensuality of performing dance. Since 2011 he has lived in Pōneke, where he studied with Deirdre Tarrant. Amit is now in his final year at the New Zealand School of Dance.
Otto Kosok is currently completing his third year at New Zealand School of Dance. Previous to this he was a founding member of Co3 Australia Co:Youth ensemble. Otto has performed in the World of Wearable Arts Awards Show, Wawā Waraki: Roaring Chorus, New Zealand Sports Awards 2019, NZSD Choreographic Season 2019, NZSD Graduation Season 2019 and interned with Red Leap Theatre.
Monique Gilmour is an arts collaborator who is currently working in Film, Events, Dance and Devised Theatre. She specifically enjoys people management and has a Bachelor of Performing Arts Management from Toi Whakaari.
