Tutor Biography
Gary Peters is a Wellington based artist and designer with more years experience than he'd care to remember.
As an artist he is known for making hard edged non-objective wall works, painting-objects, and monochromes. He has an acute awareness of space & colour and loves the act of making things. Recent work sees him revisiting and developing a much looser practice, as seen in his exhibition New Old Forms at Toi Pōneke earlier this year.
As a designer, since learning on the job in the UK during the mid 90s, he's worked with clients you'll have heard of (WCC, NZTA, Fonterra, Harper Collins) and many you haven't. He brings broad experience across both print and web, a keen eye, an interest in typography, and design thinking to all his projects.
