Te Hau Tūtū is an independent Māori Theatre Producers Room, established at Te Hau Kāinga in Taranaki Street.
With the core values of whānaungatanga, growth, visibility and home at the heart of all we do, Te Hau Tūtū is a space which allows us to share resources, ideas, support and access to the wider Māori Theatre community, as well as produce top quality theatre for the national and international stages.
Join the Hau Tūtū creatives in the Hub at Toi Pōneke and hear excerpts from works in progress, including:
Pakaru by Mitch Tawhi Thomas, produced by Hapai Productions, to premiere as part of Kia Mau Festival 2019.
Kingdom of Women, by Nancy Brunning, Hapai Productions
Hide the Dog, co-written by Jamie McCaskill and Nathan Maynard (Tasmania), Tikapa Productions
This free event is produced by H-J Kilkelly and Erina Daniels.
Te Hau Tūtū is proudly supported by Toi Pōneke Arts Centre, WCC
